Hana received her PhD in Molecular Medicine from Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Germany and her Postdoc in Neuroimmunology from Max Planck Institute of Experimental Medicine, Clinical Neuroscience, Goettingen, Germany.
Her overall goal is to find out how the immune responses to enteric viral infection cause defects in gastrointestinal (GI) motility. More specifically, she is focused on the West Nile virus triggered injury to enteric nervous system (ENS) and neighboring enteric glia by innate and adaptive immunity.
